How to signup in Hotmail or Outlook? Uses of Outlook services.

Hotmail, now renamed to Outlook, is one of the most popular free online email service provider, acquired by Microsoft. In 2012, the Windows Hotmail Service was renamed to Today, Outlook provides virtually unlimited storage for free, connections to various social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google. It is easily accessible on mobile phones with the internet connection along with the features of built-in search and spam filtering.

Step to create new or signup in Hotmail account:-

STEP 1: Visit the official website of outlook using the URL You can also visit other URLs like or Once the page opens up, click on the button of Create Account present on the top-right corner of the page.

STEP 2: After clicking on the button, you will be directed to another page where a dialog box will appear in which you have to enter a new Email Address. This would be the address which will be used for sending and receiving emails and would also act as your email identity.

STEP 3 : Once you enter your email address, after clicking on next, another page will be opened where you have to create your Password. A password should be a combination of uppercase and lowercase alphabets, numbers, and symbols so that it is strong enough to be hacking-free. After choosing your password, click on next.

STEP 4 : Now you have to provide some personal information. Just follow the instructions flashing on the screen. Firstly, you have to provide your full name but in two different columns – First Name and Last Name. This name will be the main identifier of your Hotmail or Outlook account.

STEP 5: Enter your Country Name and your Birthdate.

STEP 6: For security purposes, you have to provide your Phone Number along with the Country Code in the next dialog box. When you will enter your phone number and click on send code, you will receive a code on the entered number. After entering the code in the dialog box, simply click on next. It is mandatory to provide your phone number as it would keep your account safe and secure and will also help you to reset your account in future if needed.

STEP 7 : Phone number was the last information required. After following all the steps correctly, you will be redirected to a new webpage of Outlook welcoming you to your outlook account. This means that you have successfully created your account. On the same page click on the arrow located at the right side.

STEP 8: Further for the final completion of the account, few more details are to be provided. Enter your preferred language and the time zone of your country and click on the arrow at the right.

STEP 9: Then you will get an option of choosing 1 from 50 themes for your account background. These various themes make your account background look more attractive and pleasant. After choosing the one you like, click on the arrow at the right for one last time. It is advisable to choose a darker theme to make the text on the page pop-up from the background. You can change the theme as per your wish later on.

STEP 10: Then you have to select the style of your signature. This selected signature will automatically appear at the end of every mail you compose. You have four options for selecting one out of those – Default, Business, Custom, and Off. You can select the type of signature you want to display at the end of your emails according to your profession.

STEP 11: Once done, you will see a message on the screen saying Let’s Go!

STEP 12: After clicking on Let’s Go button, you will be directly taken to your Hotmail or Outlook mailbox.

STEP 13: Congratulations! Your new Outlook account has been signed up. You just need to remember your Hotmail sign up email address or username and your password for Hotmail account sign in.

  • Microsoft Word – It is a word processing program allowing its users to type and save any kind of data in the form of documents.
